Sony SRS-XB13 Bluetooth speaker is compact, colorful and cute.
This is a small handy Bluetooth speaker that can be placed anywhere in the room or countertop or even used outdoors and doesn’t take up any space at all. It is 7.45 cm wide and 9.45 cm high. It weighs a little over 250 grams – all of which give it the strength to make it your go-to speaker. The base of the device is made of rubber to provide stability to avoid movement caused by vibration.
The Sony SRS-XB13 Bluetooth speaker comes in six color options – Coral Pink, Lemon Yellow, Light Blue, Taupe, Black and Power Blue – offering a wide range to satisfy almost all desires, at least in terms of looks does.
It has five buttons – power, bluetooth, play/pause, volume up and volume down – which are pretty basic and essential. You also get a Type-C port for additional connectivity and charging needs.
Overall, it is a lovely piece of gadget. You also get a removable strap with the speaker so you can tie it or hang it however you need.
Performance
Looking at the size of the Sony SRS-XB13 Bluetooth speaker, you might feel that you shouldn’t expect too much from it, given how powerful a speaker of its size can be.
But a quick firing of the device shows you that it is much more powerful than it shows. Sony has equipped the SRS-XB13 Bluetooth speaker with a sound diffusion processor for 360-degree sound. It also has a passive radiator which helps boost the bass to the device.
In terms of audio experience, you get clear vocals and punchy bass – which are quite impressive for its size. You should note that for a Bluetooth speaker of this size, the range of offering a diverse audio experience is clearly limited. Even at the highest volume level, there was no distortion in the audio, which is another good thing about this device.
The Sony SRS-XB13 has a speaker size of 46mm diameter, with a frequency transmission range of 20 Hz-20,000Hz. Another added functionality of the device is that it is IP67, which means that it is waterproof and dust-proof.
Talking about battery backup, the company claims that you get 16 hours of battery life, although it may vary at volume levels.
My opinion
Sony SRS-XB13 Bluetooth Speaker is a simple yet capable device. It is a perfect buy for those who want to get their hands on a device that is not only affordable but also portable.
