Xiaomi 11T Pro – a successful smartphone with a phenomenal 120 W charging

Everyone dreams of a flagship smartphone but the high prices of flagship smartphones shatter our dream. Basically, we have two solutions to this problem. The first is to lower your expectations and look for a solid average. The second is to find a smartphone that does not give way to the flagship competition on paper, and we can easily buy it below within our budget. An example of such a device is the Xiaomi 11T Pro, which I had the opportunity to test in recent weeks. What can this model do? Is it worth considering buying it?

Benefits

•             Robust battery and lightning-fast charging

•             Good AMOLED screen with 120 Hz refresh and a wide range of brightness adjustment

•             Stereo speakers provide good sound quality

•             Impressive  camera capabilities

Defects

•             Sometimes the smartphone gets very hot

•             The phone collects dirt very easily

•             No headphone jack and memory card support

Xiaomi has once again proved that it can make a great impression with the screen, speakers and performance in its smartphones. In addition, the 11T Pro model has a solid battery that we can recharge in the blink of an eye. When it comes to the weaknesses of this smartphone, the device gets dirty very easily, it also gets very hot.

Xiaomi 11T Pro – Technical specification

The smartphone is packed in an aesthetic, white box with gold inscriptions, very similar to those of the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE . Inside you will also find a key for the SIM card tray, a simple, transparent case, a cable and an unusual charger. It is distinguished from the average accessory of this type by its size and weight – it is really big and heavy. As you can imagine, it may be related to the power of up to 120 W. There was also a protective foil that was immediately glued to the display.

Construction and quality of the smartphone.

Xiaomi 11T Pro is a phone with large dimensions that weighs its own. Some activities on the smartphone with one hand may require some exercise on the part of the user. On the other hand, the smartphone is very well felt in the pocket and we will certainly find out if, for example, we forget to take it. The device is solid and well-fitted, only the back panel is slightly bent under the pressure of the fingers, which is not a particular problem, however.

The back of the device resembles brushed metal, which will be more to some people and less to others. In my opinion, the end result is good, although unfortunately, the smartphone’s backs collect dirt very easily . Only the frame around the device, which is matte, does not get dirty.

The bottom edge of the reviewed smartphone is occupied by one of the two speakers, a USB-C port and a SIM card tray. On the right side of the device there are buttons for adjusting the volume and turning on the phone. The switch also has a fingerprint reader, which is fast and accurate . The left edge of the Xiaomi 11T Pro remained blank. At the top we find the second of the pair of speakers. The Harman Kardon set could be slightly louder, but I must admit that it sounds good for the speakers in the phone, the sound is very clear, there are no noise or other distortions.

If someone does not like large islands with cameras, I have bad news for him – the one in the 11T Pro is really big and it is very noticeable . In my opinion, the island in Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE looks much nice . As for the front of the smartphone – the screen is surrounded by not very thick frames, and the manufacturer put on a round hole in the screen.

Screen in Xiaomi 11T Pro

The Mi 10T Pro had a 6.67 ″ IPS screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate. Compared to its predecessor, the 11T Pro model has a slightly lower refresh rate (120 Hz), but the display used is AMOLED . The resolution has changed slightly (2400 × 1080 px in the 11T Pro, 2340 × 1080 px in the Mi 10T Pro).

The screen of the reviewed smartphone deserves praise. The viewing angles are very good, I have no objections to the sharpness of the image and the displayed colors . Adjusting the brightness allows you to comfortably use the smartphone both in the sun and in almost complete darkness. The 120 Hz refresh rate is enough to make the content scrolling very smoothly.

A solid battery and phenomenal charging

The battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh is nothing to complain about. It is enough for 1.5 days of really intensive use , and many people will probably be able to reach 2 days without major problems

The smartphone can be charged to 100% in less than 20 minutes . Every minute, a few percent increases. This is a great result. Of course, to achieve it, you need to use the included 120W charger. A phone connected to a different charger or e.g. to a computer will charge much slower.

Xiaomi boasts the TÜV Rheinland Safe Fast-Charge System certificate and 34 safety functions. The battery should withstand 800 charging cycles in efficiency.

Photo opportunities

Pictures taken during the day are very nice, especially their colors are worth paying attention to. The photos are detailed and stay clear even when you bring them close. Xiaomi 11T Pro also deals with macro photos and background blurring.

Photos after dark also look very good at first glance. However, when we decide to bring them closer, it turns out that it is not perfect. We have to take into account some noise or other imperfections. Despite this, there is nothing to complain about, especially since we get the automatic Night 2S mode , which significantly improves the situation.

Xiaomi 11T Pro allows you to record videos in 720p, 1080p, 4K and 8K . In the case of 1080p and 4K, we can take advantage of image recording in 60 fps. There is also video stabilization, but it is possible to use it only when recording in 1080p and 30 fps. Of course, the best films are recorded during the day. They can look great, especially when we choose 4K resolution in combination with 60 fps. The Super macro mode is also noteworthy , as it allows you to record small objects up close in good quality.

Xiaomi 11T Pro software, performance and user experience

Xiaomi 11T Pro works under the control of Android 11 with the MIUI 12.5 overlay . In terms of interface and functionality, the phone is not surprising – it offers the same as other models from the same manufacturer. After downloading all the updates, the smartphone has the security patches from September 1 this year.

The combination of the Snapdragon 888 with 8 GB of RAM gives reason to believe that there will be no problems with using the Xiaomi 11T Pro. I must admit that the smartphone works very smoothly in everyday use. Usually, applications are launched very quickly, and the phone does not get out of breath when we run many programs in the background . Unfortunately, sometimes the smartphone heats up too much. It happens while fast charging or playing games. Speaking of games, it is worth mentioning that the 11T Pro, as predicted, has no problems with them, even with very high graphics settings. On the charts below, you can see how the reviewed smartphone performed in benchmark tests.

Xiaomi 11T Pro is undoubtedly another successful smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer. The device works great in everyday use, as well as in situations when we expect something more from it. Compared to the 11T model, it has such significant advantages as the Snapdragon 888 processor, Harman Kardon speakers and 120 W fast charging . We will not find this in an ordinary 11T. Everyone has to determine for themselves what their budget for a new smartphone is and how much they are able to pay extra for individual elements of the device’s equipment.
