As a result of US sanctions, Huawei is having difficulty selling smartphones, largely due to a lack of access to Google services and apps.
The company’s long drive to introduce new flagship phones outside of China has been stalled, and so far the P50, P50 Pro and its foldable model P50 Pocket have not been offered for sale outside of China. ۔
But now after a long time, Huawei is ready to launch 2 flagship phones in the form of P50 Pro and P50 Pocket globally.
Huawei’s Malaysian branch confirmed on its Twitter account that the company is launching the P50 Pro and P50 Pocket globally on January 12.
The Huawei Malaysia website also lists the details and features of both phones, which are similar to the models available in China.
But the P50 Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor instead of the company’s own Karen 9000, while the P50 Pocket will have EMUI 12 instead of Harmony OS.
The company did not specify which operating system the P50 would have, but possibly EMUI12.
Both the phones will come with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage while the P50 Pocket Premium Edition will also have the option of 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.
The P50 Pro features a 6.6-inch elbow OLD display with 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR support.
The P50 Pro comes with a 4360 mAh battery with 66 watt wired and 50 watt wireless charging support.
As far as the camera setup is concerned, the P50 Pro has Lisa branded cameras equipped with 10 channel sensors and better telephoto modules than ever before.
The P50 Pro has a 50-megapixel main camera with features like F1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization.
In addition, the 40-megapixel black and white camera with F1.6 aperture, while the 12-megapixel Ultra Wide is also part of the phone.
A 64-megapixel periscope camera for zooming is also included in the device which provides 3.5x optical zoom.
The front of the phone has a 13 megapixel camera with a punch hole design.
The Chinese company had introduced the Mate X foldable series, but the P50 Pocket is the first phone to be similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razor foldable phone.
The design of this new foldable Huawei phone is taken from the P50 series but it can be closed and the costume is based on 3D structure glass design.
In the open form, the phone has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and a selfie camera in a punch hole design.
The locked phone has an inch screen on the front that can be used to view time, date and notifications.
The company says the phone’s own service widgets are designed for third-party apps like Maps, music players and QR codes, while navigation can also be done on the big screen and directions can be seen on the cover screen.
The P50 Pocket has a setup of 3 cameras on the back with a 40-megapixel main camera, 13-megapixel Ultra Wide and 32-megapixel Ultra Spectrum cameras.
This third camera works to improve color rendering.
The P50 Pocket has a 4000 mAh battery that provides 40 watt fast charging support and according to the company, the device is 7.2 mm thick in foldable form and weighs 190 grams
