It was during an online conference this Thursday, February 24, 2022, that Oppo launched its new top-of-the-range model, the Find X5 Pro. It also unveiled the Find X5 and the Find X5 Lite.
The company says this model is capable of capturing night videos in 4K .

A futuristic design inspired by the lunar conquest
This new top-of-the-range model is the worthy successor to the Oppo Find X3 Pro that we released last year. Its design is inspired by “space and space-age design from the time of the moon landing “.
Its dimensions are also very similar since the new top of the range from Oppo measures 163.7 mm in height and 73.9 mm in width for 8.5 mm in thickness. The whole thing still weighs 218 grams.
At the front, there is a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus glass. There is embedded a punch in the upper left corner, which houses the front sensor.
It must be said that the feeling of lack of frame offered by Oppo is particularly pleasant. The chassis offers the classic volume (left side) and power (right side) buttons, as well as a USB-C port and the SIM card drawer at its base.
Its back is, again, a curved one-piece. The difference this time around is that it’s made of ” nanoscale microcrystalline ceramic .” It is a surface twice as hard as glass It is able to resist scratches better.
Its centerpiece is its photo island, whose sensor layout has been revised. But we will come back to it. Let’s finish by specifying that the Oppo Find X5 Pro meets the IP68 standard: it is splash-proof, water-proof, and dust-proof.
A solid technical sheet
Under the hood of the Oppo Find X5 Pro, we find the benchmark for high-end Android models, namely Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC , coupled with 12 GB of RAM. 5G compatible and capable of supporting Wi-Fi 6E , Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC, it above all offers 30% higher performance and 25% greater energy efficiency than the previous generation.

Its screen with WQHD+ resolution (3,216 x 1,440 pixels), HDR10+ compatible , benefits from a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, but is adaptive to optimize the performance of the smartphone according to the content displayed: reading It thus makes it possible to limit battery consumption when a high refresh rate is not necessary.

It is also boosted by the O1 Ultra Vision engine to scale 720px and 1080px footage to create a 2160px super-resolution image. Enough to make the most of the high-resolution screen of the Oppo Find X5 Pro, with deeper blacks and a richer range of tones.
The smartphone has a large 5,000 mAh battery, compatible with SuperVOOC 80W fast charging to bring an almost empty battery to 50% in about 12 minutes. The Oppo Find X5 Pro also supports the AirVOOC 50W wireless function for a full charge in 47 minutes.

Finally, to avoid burning your fingers, the top of the range has a multi-level cooling system, capable of dissipating heat more efficiently, especially the surface temperature, when pushing the smartphone with demanding games using refresh rates from 90 to 120 Hz.
4K Night Video Capture
At the front, the punch houses a 32 Mpx Sony IMX 709 sensor (1 / 2.74”, 0.8 µm photosites; 21 mm f / 2.4 lens) with better light capture. If its angle is, by default, 80°, it automatically changes to 90° when friends join you so that everyone enters the frame.
The photo module on the back of the Oppo Find X5 Pro has two 50MP Sony IMX 766 sensors. One for the wide angle (1/1.56”, photosites 1 µm; 25 mm f/1.7 80° lens), the other for the ultra wide angle (1/1.56”, photosites 1µm; 15mm f/2.2 110° lens), to ensure better consistency and color accuracy on the two popular cameras.
A third 13 Mpx sensor completes the trio to detect the color spectrum of a scene with its 13 channels (instead of the 5-channel RGBCW sensor of the previous model). Thus, with the improved AWB algorithm, it offers higher quality rendering, which reproduces real colors and restores natural tones. The whole thing is completed by a five-axis optical stabilization system.
Oppo has renewed its partnership with Hasselblad engineers to offer a range of creative filters for more original and professional-looking photos.
But on the photography side, the element that catches our attention the most is the MariSilicon X chip which offers best-in-class power efficiency while delivering high-level imaging performance, up to 18 TOPS ( Tera Operations Per Second ).
It allows you to capture HDR videos with 20-bit color depth, with a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 between the brightest and darkest areas, and a dynamic range of up to 120 dB. Thus, the Oppo Find X5 Pro could capture night videos in 4K with an image as clear as a photo.
Oppo Find X5 and Find X5 Lite
The Oppo Find X5 Pro is launched alongside two other models in the range. The Find X5 is its closest relative, with which it shares many elements. The latter is slightly smaller (160.3 x 72.6 mm) and lighter (196 grams) but thicker (8.7 mm). On the back, it’s covered in a curved one-piece hot-formed glass, like the Find X3 Pro.
Its 6.5-inch OLED screen is “limited” to an FHD+ resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. If it has the same photo module on the back, its selfie sensor differs slightly since this time it is a Sony IMX 615, 32 Mpx (1/2.74”, photosites 0.8 µm; 25 mm f/2.4 lens) limited to an angle of 81°.
It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 8 GB of RAM, and a slightly smaller battery (4,800 mAh) compatible with 80 W SuperVOOC fast charging. It also supports wireless charging. AirVOOC wire, but at 30W.
As for the Oppo Find X5 Lite, its design is more conventional than that of its big brothers.
It offers a 6.4” AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, 5G compatible, coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The latter is virtually expandable from 2 to 5 GB depending on the storage space available.
It has a 4,500 mAh battery, compatible with SuperVOOC 65 W fast charging, for a full charge in 31 minutes. The point on which the Chinese manufacturer presses the most is, of course, the photo and in particular the portrait.
t the front, its punch houses a 32 Mpx sensor while the island at the back includes three sensors. A 64 Mpx wide angle, an 8 Mpx ultra wide angle and a 2 Mpx macro sensor. All boosted with AI to obtain the most beautiful bokeh effects!
