The petition has been filed in the Supreme Court through former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor and Advocate Azhar Siddiqui.
The said petition regarding the threatening letter has been filed in the Supreme Court under Article 184/3 of the Constitution.
The petition said that the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan is an international conspiracy and action against the no-confidence motion should be stooped.
The petition states that conspirators against the Prime Minister fall into the category of treason. Various TV anchors had already mentioned the no-confidence motion. Secret meetings were held with Nawaz Sharif in London where the conspiracy was hatched.
Petitioner Naeem-ul-Hassan Advocate, while requesting to stop the proceedings of the no-confidence motion, said that a commission of inquiry should be constituted in the manner of Memogate, an inquiry commission consisting of 3 judges of the Supreme Court should be constituted and hearings should be held on daily basis.
The petitioner requested that the vote on the no-confidence motion be stayed till the inquiry, which is a sensitive and urgent matter, should be heard today.
The Federal Government, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Defense were made parties in the petition.
The Speaker National Assembly, Election Commission, FIA, PTI, PML-N, PPP, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami and MQM are also parties in the petition .
t may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan, while addressing a rally at the Parade Ground in Islamabad on March 27, had taken out a letter from his pocket accusing the opposition of a no-confidence motion against the government. Attempts are being made to change the government with the help of money from outside.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that we have been threatened in writing, but on this occasion the Prime Minister took a letter out of his pocket, waved it in front of the people and put it back without reading.
