The results showed that excessive consumption of sugar through foods and drinks increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases and clots.

The research found that the higher the amount of sugar in the diet, the higher the risk of heart disease, stroke and heart attack.

Research has shown that excessive consumption of sugar increases the risk of heart disease by 6 percent and the risk of stroke by 10 percent.

Researchers said that preferring natural sweeteners such as fruits and vegetables instead of sugar can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Similarly, excessive consumption of dietary fiber daily can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases by up to 4 percent.
