Researchers from Tulane University in the United States have found that having multiple common illnesses can lower mental capacity and even cause the patient to develop dementia and Alzheimer’s. They insist that the brain can age cellularly as a result of these conditions, which are common in the elderly and middle-aged.

In a study that was reported in the journal Brain, Behavior, and Immunity, researchers enlisted middle-aged and elderly mice and created inflammation in the lab that was comparable to that caused by the flu, seasonal colds, or any other disease. and prospers in disease.

The project manager for this investigation was Elizabeth Engler Curazi. They discovered that as infection and inflammation increased in older mice, rather than in the short term, the connections between their brain cells (neurons) were reduced and dementia and other diseases could later develop.
