Imran Khan decides to seek assistance from the President, Chief Justice to form a commission of inquiry into the US post
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has sought the assistance of President Dr Arif Alvi and Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial to meet the demand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to form a judicial commission to investigate the alleged threatening diplomatic cable.
According to the Dawn newspaper, a statement issued by Imran Khan said that “the cable shared by the former Pakistani ambassador to the United States will be consulted with both the important state officials”.
PTI chief says nation’s self-respect and independence is more important than maintaining power.
As a common Pakistani I agree with what Mr. Shehbaz Sharif said on April 27, 2022 that Pakistan cannot afford enmity with the US. He added that we should try end mistrust between Pakistan and the US.
Former Prime Minister Imran followed a foreign policy which not only angered the Super Power but also alienated our friends like China, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. These countries have always helped Pakistan in difficult times.
I failed to understand why he is talking about American hand in his ouster. He does not realize that he has created a foreign policy quagmire.
The anti-American sentiments created in the Pakistan by Imran Khan and its advisers is not good for the country. It is unfortunate that a large chunk of Pakistani population has accepted his version of the conspiracy theory.
Once again Imran Khan is speaking against the west and political dynasties of Pakistan. The deep polarization cultivated by Imran for years have pitched Pakistanis against one another. He and his supporters labelling people who oppose them as traitors and started attaching each other.
What happened to Noor Alam Khan everyone knows. Now the Imran’s supporters hackled PM Shehbaz in Medina. I would like to repeat the words of Hoodbhoy here. He said his lust for power makes him a dangerous person for the country.
The war of words between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reached new heights on Thursday when former Prime Minister Imran Khan accused the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of taking “biased decisions” against his party. The Chief Election Commissioner dismissed the PTI’s statement as a “deliberate attempt to defame the commission”.
According to the news reports the Chief Election Commissioner lamented that the impression was being given that decisions were being made by one person in the Election Commission of Pakistan. He added that this allegation was contrary to the ground realities.
The Chief Election Commissioner rejected the baseless allegations of the PTI chairman. He said that Election Commission is a constitutional body which makes all decisions in the light of the constitution and law.
The ECP chairman said that from January 2020 to date, all decisions have been taken by consensus and not a single decision has been written with a dissenting note.
The Election Commission of Pakistan will continue to make decisions in the best interest of the country under the Constitution and under oath without any pressure.
The statement came after PTI chairman Imran Khan accused Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja of being an agent of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and demanded his immediate resignation.
Imran’s close friends and advisers should ask him to control his mouth or else he will be in great problem in the coming days.
He called ECP chairman a planted agent of PMLN. It is a serious allegation. Does he have an evidence to substantiate his allegations?
In a meeting with journalists at his Bani Gala residents he called ECP chairman planted by the establishment. His contradictory statements belittle him. It is interesting to note his party Shareen Mazari has welcomed the appointed of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
The ECP has taken notice of allegations and requested PEMRA to provide recordings of his addresses. He will be in serious problem when the ECP legal team prepares a complaint against him.
A common Pakistan like me thinks that the Foreign Funding cases have disturbed him wide because the judgement on this case can decide his future politics. If he has nothing to fear he must face the case and provide evidence in the court.
I think PMLN is right in saying he wants to make ECP controversial ahead of the verdict.
Hammad Ghazavi has a written a sarcastic piece on Imran Khan and questioned his honest on the Geo.tv website. The title of the piece is “Banda Imamdar Hai” – the man is honest.
He writes sarcastically narrates the story of how Imran Khan come out of the prime ministers on the last day of his office.
He wrote that he come out of the PM house with a diary in his hand.
“we do not know if Khan Sahib’s diary contained gifts or details of gifts in the treasury, so let’s talk about what we know.”
He mentions in the piece that how Imran Khan did not mention in declaration about the London Flat. Imran Khan had said about this flat the forget to mention it in his declaration. However, he raises a question that the former PM failed to provide details of the money he used to buy the flat. He accuses that PM that he took advantage of the Amnesty scheme and regularized it.
He laments that that our judiciary has given a certificate of honesty and trustworthy to a certified money launderer.
He mentions about the money used to build the house at Bani Gala. The former PM has said that his wife has gifted this house. However, he was seen to change his statement and said that he had borrowed the money from his buy and paid her back by selling his London flat. Imran Khan failed to back his statement with evidence.
In fact, Jaima had sent money to a man named Arshad. He had given it to him
“We’ve all heard the tragic story, from presents to watches. Let’s move on. Have you heard the story of the helicopter? Imran Khan spent one billion rupees on going from home to office, which is a hundred times more than his predecessor. Who else is playing with the money of the nation? And who is this Farah princess whose name is written in bold letters on every incident that takes place in Punjab, forty four bank accounts, dozens of vehicles, twenty plots, hundreds of acres of land, what is all this? Let’s just say that as the trustee of Al-Qadir Rouhani University, how did your eyes fall on Farah Shahzadi?,” said Hammad Ghazavi
His supporter his say that that he is honest despite this allegations.
Hammad wrote, “When Imran Khan’s idol was being carved, a very heavy proportion of ‘honesty’ was kept in the raw material, a politician was invented who would do politics but would not be a politician, because politicians are corrupt. Before Imran Khan, this financial honesty was only mentioned in martial law administrators. Imran was the first civilian politician whose honesty was beyond doubt like his idol carving.”
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has heard a petition filed by the Cabinet Division that had challenged the order given by The Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) in a petition before the IHC to release the details of gifts received by former Prime Minister Imran.
The Islamabad High Court in its remarks said that it should not have been a policy to take a gift home by paying a certain percentage of money. Making such a policy means selling the gifts.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked that the gift given to the government of Pakistan goes to the office of the prime minister . These gifts are not to be taken home. If someone has taken home a gift from abroad, take it back. People come and go. The Prime Minister’s Office lives there.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan in his remarks said that the gifts of the last twenty years should be viewed in the same way. If there is any constitutional interpretation to be made, we will do it. Take back the gifts from the people who have taken them home.
Someone in the PMLN tried to malign Imran Khan in a stupid way now the action has boomeranged back on the government.
If the information is released that it will open a pandora’s box. There is a long list of prime and officeholders who had taken the gifts at throw-away prices.
Pakistan Muslims and People’s parties leaders did not release their leaders have also taken away expensive gives. Rauf Klasra has written a detail reported on this in his article long ago. ‘
He wrote: During the rule of Nawaz Sharif from 1997 to 1999, Nawaz Sharif took with him gifts from Tosha Khana worth more than Rs. 67 lakhs for only Rs. 9 lakhs. Nawaz Sharif took these Mercedes worth Rs. 42.5 million for Rs. 636,000. Mercedes was not included in the gift of Rs 67 lakh. In 1997, a carpet was presented to him by a Turkmen delegation.
Nawaz Sharif took this carpet as a gift by paying only 50 rupees. In 1997, he received a briefcase as a gift from the Crown Prince of Qatar. Nawaz Sharif took this briefcase by paying only 875 rupees. The MP rifle worth Rs 150,000 was taken away after paying Rs 14,000, while watches were given to Nawaz Sharif and Kulsoom Nawaz by the ruler of Abu Dhabi. Nawaz Sharif worth Rs 300,000. 45,000 except for the clock

Earlier on Thursday, the First Lady welcomed Mrs Kulsoom Nawaz Sharif and Ms Maryam Nawaz Sharif to the White House. The two visiting dignitaries came to the official residence of the US president to express their support for Mrs Obama’s programme, the “Let Girls Learn” initiative.
The Sindh High Court on Tuesday directed the respondent federal government authorities to file details of the programme ‘Let Girls Learn’ through which former US first lady Michelle Obama granted 70 million dollars to Maryam Nawaz to promote girls’ education in Pakistan.
The petitioner informed the judges that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz and Michelle Obama had signed a contract to enhance Pak-US cooperation and vowed to work together on expanding opportunities of education for females in Pakistan. However, she alleged, not a single penny was spent on education as no programme was launched by the government.
The “American conspiracy” rhetoric is going to be weaken further in the coming days. The American official Donald Lu,who is accused of threatening is said to be a very “soft-spoken” diplomat and his use of harsh words is unbelievable!
But the impression that is being given is that there was talk of do or die situation in this meeting. The rest of you are also sensible. If America had to remove Imran Khan, would they give it in writing.Former Foreign Secretary Riaz Muhammad’s article has been published in Dawn. You must read!
