Xiaomi has spoken out and explained the performance adjustment in favor of benchmark applications

According to John Poole, results in single-core tests were about 30 percent lower on the ‘disguised’ version of GeekBench compared to the regular one, while multi-core tests showed results about 15 percent lower.

GeekBench developer John Poole last week revealed that Xiaomi is adjusting the performance of its smartphones to show better results on individual benchmark applications.

Poole took the results of Xiaomi 11 on GeekBench as an example, which differ when a regular version of an application is launched and one that is “disguised” in a video game, such as Fortnite or Genshin Impact.

As the results varied significantly, which worried users, Xiaomi gave an official statement for the Dutch portal Hardware Info .

“Xiaomi applies temperature management strategies to ensure an optimal product experience, especially in demanding applications that are often used for extended periods of time. On many of our devices, we offer three types of modes of operation, allowing users to adjust the balance between performance and energy efficiency, ”say Xiaomi.

They also pointed out that at the system level, all optimizations related to application performance, assess many important factors, such as energy consumption, performance and thermal impact. In other words, Xiaomi did not deny Poole’s accusations, but also acknowledged the use of a “temperature management strategy” for better performance.

Although the Chinese manufacturer mentions three types of modes that allow users different levels of performance and energy efficiency, it should be noted that such “benefits” are mainly their more expensive phones. So, it seems that this adjustment of performance according to the name of the application in the end only happens on Xiaomi’s premium devices, writes Gizmochina .

Redmi Note 11 is an attractive and tempting device

Redmi Note 11 is available in Pakistan at a reasonable price

Stylish and solid

Redmi Note 11 looks like an expensive smartphone because of its construction. The device is available in three color variants– Twilight Blue, Graphite Gray and Star Blue.

.Smartphone users will like its expressive, distinctive camera frame. Flat sides of housing add character and elegance.

The casing is also practical. One can hold the phone with comfort. The casing has been made with a material that gives you the feeling that it is stiff and light.

Display

Although we are talking about mid-range a smartphone launched in Pakistan,. The smartphone has an AMOLED Dot Display. Considering its features it will give you rich, intense colors and perfect deep blacks.

The display covers the DCI-P3 color palette and offers a high contrast of 4,500,000: 1. The technology used also ensures high screen brightness – that is, the convenience of using it in bright lighting, on sunny days.

The typical brightness of this display is a solid 700 nits, but thanks to a special “solar” mode, it can periodically increase up to a thousand nits if necessary.

The screen has a size of 6.43 inches, which is a reasonable compromise between the size ideal for multimedia consumption, and a compact form ensuring the portability of the device.

The display matrix refreshes the image with a frequency of 90 Hz, which makes moving images much smoother and more pleasing to the eye than on standard screens.

Redmi also cares about the condition of our eyes. In addition to the high degree of refreshment, Note 11 uses a system of eye protection against flickering and harmful blue light.

Power Performance for any challenge

The Redmi Note 11 uses the proven Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor produced in 6 nm technology. This system is supported by LPDDR4X operating memory and the internal UFS 2.2 carrier, which, if necessary, can be expanded with a removable microSD card up to a terabyte!

The built-in application that allows you to clean the memory of unnecessary files and optimizes the use of device resources in the full way takes care of the optimal performance of the smartphone at any time.

The device also uses the Write Booster technology, which facilitates saving large files, installing applications and accelerating access to data. Thanks to these solutions, we can be sure that, regardless of the usage scenario, our smartphone will always work quickly and smoothly.

This processor is not only fast and powerful, but also runs on the energy-efficient 6nm process to give you high performance while improving battery life. Faster loading speeds with UFS 2.2 and accelerated writing with the Write Booster — effective high-speed app installation, initiation and file cache functions, as well as large-file reading and writing.

There is no shortage of energy

Speaking of energy – we have enough in Redmi Note 11. Thanks to the aforementioned optimization mechanisms, a 5000 mAh battery is enough for up to two days of quite intensive operation of the smartphone. Translating it into concrete facts – we are talking about 43 hours of continuous conversation or 22 hours of continuous watching movies. If we wanted to listen to music using Note 11 – we can do it for up to … 215 hours! If necessary, the energy reserve can be efficiently replenished, because there is a fast-charging system working with a power of 33 W. Thanks to it, we can fill a completely empty battery in an hour. A suitable charger is included in the set – which is not so obvious these days …

Friendly, convenient interface

Redmi Note 11 works on the basis of the proprietary, based on the Android 11 system and the MIUI 13 interface. It provides not only an intuitive, simple layout of individual elements, but also a number of proprietary applications that support the user when using the phone. In MIUI you will find convenient gestures to improve navigation through the interface, as well as functional widgets that allow you to personalize the device. The interface also gives us a “sidebar”, which allows you to access all your favorite applications in floating windows with a single gesture. The system also includes a number of background functions that continuously optimize the system as well as conserve energy.

Security is an important thing

A smartphone is the most personal device that surrounds us. We store a lot of information, photos and data that are important to us, the phone is often also our wallet and banking platform. That is why the degree of protection it provides is so important. In Redmi Note 11, a proven solution was chosen: a classic fingerprint reader located on the side of the housing. Using this reader is convenient and intuitive. The sensor is also fast and reliable, but if we prefer to unlock the smartphone using the image of our face – we will also have this option. Thanks to the option of cloning applications and creating a “second space” for applications and files, Redmi Note 11 will allow us to efficiently and effectively separate our private zone of the phone from the work one.

Xiaomi 12: Galaxy S22 alternative will not be cheap

Xiaomi 12 (Image source: Xiaomi)
Now that Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S22 and is launching it soon, one wonders where the Xiaomi 12 is going. It was presented in China a few weeks ago. Now the first prices in euros for the Xiaomi 12 have appeared and it shows again that the top smartphones are not as cheap as you are used to from previous generations.

Xiaomi 12 costs up to 1,200 euros
Shortly after Christmas 2021, Xiaomi presented its new high-end smartphones Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro in China. Since then we have been waiting patiently for them While Xiaomi is still holding back on this point , the first prices in euros for the new smartphones are appearing . As a reminder, in China the Xiaomi 12 costs the equivalent of around 500 euros. Of course, it won’t be that cheap with us (source: MySmartPrice ).

The Xiaomi 12 should be available at a price of 800 euros or more . You should get the version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. If you want double the memory, you have to pay 900 euros. Xiaomi would charge twice as much as Samsung for the Galaxy S22 for doubling the memory at 100 euros. There, the upgrade costs only 50 euros.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is even more expensive. There is 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage for a price of 1,000 euros . But there should also be a configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Up to 1,200 euros should then be required for this. With the Xiaomi 12X, the Chinese company wants to offer a cheaper alternative at prices starting at 600 euros. There is also a version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Doubling the internal memory again costs 100 euros.

Even the Xiaomi Mi 11 was not cheap. That’s why we did not expect the Xiaomi 12 to suddenly become a price-performance hit like we know it from the Xiaomi Mi 9. In the mid-range, the Chinese company offers incredibly good value for money, but the competition is now on the same level for top smartphones. We are curious to see whether the prices are right and how the smartphone performs compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22.

Xiaomi cell phone: What’s new in the Xiaomi smartphones

Xiaomi will unveil its new Redmi smartphones for the international market next week. Technically and visually, a lot should change will be witnessed in comparison with the Chinese versions. Now a retailer has at least unveiled the Redmi Note 11 in advance and is already showing us what to expect in the new models.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 with Qualcomm processor
The new Redmi smartphones were unveiled in China some time ago. The international launch will take place on February 26th. Previously it was announced that we will receive a slightly different configuration and this is exactly what a dealer from the Philippines confirms :

The optics will not differ compared to the Chinese model. There’s the 90Hz AMOLED display here too, which is believed to be 6.6 inches. In addition, the Snapdragon 680 processor, which should offer solid equipment. This configuration has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The battery measures 5,000 mAh and can be quickly recharged with 33 watts charger. There’s the 50MP quad camera here too.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 costs 154 euros in the Philippines. We will most likely pay significantly more. Probably a little over 200 euros . But that would still be a very good price for the equipment. At the latest in the coming week we will find out whether the information from the dealer is confirmed.

Xiaomi has a problem: the flood of smartphones has stopped working

In the fourth quarter of 2021, Xiaomi has nothing to smile about

Xiaomi certainly imagined things differently: In the fourth quarter of 2021, the Chinese manufacturer will be treading water, while Apple and Samsung will be the winners. For Xiaomi, the question arises as to whether the previous strategy still has a future. A commentary by Kaan Gürayer.

Xiaomi fails to increase smartphone market share
The numbers that the market researchers at Canalys have compiled for Xiaomi are oppressive: In the recently completed fourth quarter of 2021, the busy electronics group secured a 12 percent share of global smartphone sales – just as much as in the previous year . Gold and silver medals go to Apple and Samsung (Source: Canalys )

Notorious optimists, who always see the glass half full, would now object: “Neither improved nor worsened, it fits!” But things are not that simple for Xiaomi. The manufacturer seems to be bringing new smartphones onto the market every week , which are intended to attract customers with an even more aggressive price-performance ratio. Given that, these numbers are more than sobering, especially since things are not going well for smartwatches either .

With this “a lot helps a lot” strategy, Xiaomi is reminiscent of Samsung’s former business practices. Up until a few years ago, the South Koreans also flooded the market with countless, almost indistinguishable smartphones.

Model Samsung
However , the industry leader has got the curve , now relies on “class instead of mass” and has caught up massively, especially in the area of software and ecosystem. Hardly any other manufacturer, apart from Google itself, delivers Android updates so quickly and so long. And the interaction of the different devices – from smartphones and tablets to smartwatches and in-ear headphones – is making enormous progress and is now almost as good as the big Apple model.

Smartphones are just a playing field of Xiaomi:

Xiaomi celebrates gigantic success with cheap Android phones

Redmi Note 10 Pro
Xiaomi has worked its way up to become one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world in recent years. In a few years, the Chinese company wants to become number one. Not only cell phones that have the Xiaomi branding have helped, but especially the cheap brands. Now a great success has been shared with the community.

Xiaomi celebrates huge success with Redmi smartphones
We keep reporting on new Xiaomi smartphones that offer surprisingly good value for money. These are often Redmi models. Xiaomi has been offering real price-performance hits like the Redmi Note 10 Pro with this sub-brand for several years now. But there are countless other models that sell extremely well. This is now also proven by the figures that the company has shared.

Xiaomi has now publicly announced that over 240 million Redmi smartphones alone have been sold so far . A gigantic success that the Chinese company is rightly celebrating:

Redmi smartphones are very popular because you basically get Xiaomi hardware, just a bit cheaper. And the smartphones are technically up to date with 120 Hz displays, fast processors, stylish designs, good cameras and large batteries. In addition, there is usually even a 5G modem directly, so that you are also secured in the coming years. MIUI from Xiaomi is also used as the interface.

XIAOMI BLACK SHARK 4S PRO MOST EFFICIENT IN DECEMBER 2021

For the third month in a row, the best phone in the AnTuTu performance test is the Xiaomi Black Shark 4S Pro . The father of the success of the giant Xiaomi is the Snapdragon 888+ processor and 16 GB of RAM.

Perhaps the list of the most efficient phones in the AnTuTu test would look different if the latest models with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor were taken into account. Unfortunately, due to too little data and too short time from the launch, the latest models with this processor could not yet be included. I wonder what the January comparison will look like when the Motorola Moto Edge X30 , Xiaomi 12 or Xiaomi 12 Pro enters the game . At the moment, the Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro is in second place . There is also Vivo iQOO 8 Pro on the box .

Flagship Android Phones Performance Listing for December 2021 www.antutu.com
Vivo iQOO Z5 is the leader among the “middle class” . Honor 60 Pro is second in this classification , and Oppo Reno7 closes the podium . Interestingly, all three of the best mediums have a Snapdragon 778G + processor.

Which Xiaomi smartphones will get MIUI 13 first?

Soon, according to information, Xiaomi is to release the latest version of its overlay, i.e. MIUI 13. The exact date is not yet known, but the network is getting more and more leaks, mainly regarding smartphone models that will get the update.

MIUI 12 debuted over a year ago, seven months after the premiere of MIUI 11. We expected Xiaomi to maintain a similar pace and release the next version of the overlay in the following months. It turned out not to be. The stable version of Android 12 has been with us for some time, other smartphone manufacturers have already boasted about their overlays, meanwhile Xiaomi is still delaying. Probably the premiere of Xiaomi 12, or at least this is indicated by rumors.

MIUI 13 – for which smartphones?
The latest ones, however, do not concern the presentation date, but smartphones that are to receive the update first. The new leak reveals that MIUI 13 will get the flagship smartphones Xiaomi 11 Ultra and Xiaomi 11. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, just like the update for Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro +. These are the latest flagships in the manufacturer’s offer, although new generations of these series will appear soon.

More surprising is the fact that the leak also points to the mid-range Xiaomi 11 Youth Edition, which is also expected to get MIUI 13 in the first round. Earlier reports did not mention this model. Of course, now you can not be 100% sure, after all, this is not official information. We also expect that the list will also include other smartphones, such as the Xiaomi Mix 4, but we have to wait a little longer to confirm our guesses, because Xiaomi still has not specified the release date.

Xiaomi increases the energy density of batteries

Xiaomi not only builds many Android smartphones, but also develops existing technologies to make the end devices better. Now the Chinese company has achieved a breakthrough from which all Xiaomi smartphones should benefit. It’s about the battery life.

The batteries built into smartphones and other devices decide whether they can be used for a shorter or longer period. No matter how great the smartphone is, if the battery life doesn’t match, it’s a disappointment in everyday life. And here Xiaomi has made a small breakthrough. Thanks to a new technology, the Chinese company has been able to increase the capacity of the energy storage system by 10 percent without changing the size of the battery.

Xiaomi expects the runtime of smartphones to be extended by 100 minutes. The increase in energy density was achieved through a higher silicon content in the battery. 10 percent may not seem like much at first, but in everyday life they could decide whether a smartphone will last the whole day or fail shortly beforehand . If a smartphone previously had a 5,000 mAh battery, the capacity would increase to 5,500 mAh with the new technology. That really is a difference.

However, it is particularly important that Xiaomi has increased the energy density without changing the size of the battery. This means that users have no disadvantage in terms of design or dimensions. Xiaomi could easily extend the battery life or build thinner devices . Both options are now open to the group.
